Our Long Lunch is a multi-course, set-menu – designed to be a leisurely experience over several hours –
typically 4-5 hours. We offer a mix of shared courses & individual dishes made with local produce.
Our Child meals are aimed towards children 12 yrs and under. It’s a 2-course menu of a main (usually fish,
chicken or sliders with salad & chips, and a dessert. If you have teenagers under 15 that don’t want to
partake of the Long Lunch, please book them as a child.
We can cater for most allergies & dietary restrictions due to health or moral requirements only. We
CANNOT cater for preferences or dislikes. The substituted dishes are designed by the chef within our
current available ingredients. Groups requesting multiple menu changes will be charged an additional
$20pp if seen necessary.
Lunch starts and finishes at the same time for all guests. We like to have guests arrive 12-12.30pm. Lunch
then starts approx. 1pm — and finishes approx. 4.30-5pm.
Transfer times are approximately 12-12.30pm pick-up – and 5-5.30pm departure from Peats Bite. We will
email you in the week prior to confirm the actual times.
If you are arranging transport to the pick-up location – please make them aware of the information above.
Our specialty is our Long Lunch, and our venue is best enjoyed in the daylight to take in our spectacular
views. We only offer dinner in our restaurant to our overnight guests in the bungalows – just a light supper –
as guests won’t be too hungry after enjoying our Long Lunch!
Our boats are fully enclosed – but be sure to bring something warm as it can be much cooler on the water.
The restaurant is not affected by the weather, as all the huge windows can be opened or closed – so it’s
dry and cosy even if the weather isn’t.
If the weather has been forecast to be diverse, & dangerous weather prevails, we will cancel the booking
on your behalf with as much notice as possible and refund your booking deposit in full or transfer to an
alternative date.
Our waterfront bungalows comprise of a king bed upstairs, and a living area with king bed downstairs. We
also need to mention that the bathroom is also on the upper level. As the rooms are loft-style, they are not
entirely noise-private. There is a bar fridge as well as tea & coffee facilities.
Sadly, we have to say no to customers bringing their dogs into the restaurant. We only allow dogs that stay
on customer’s boats and come up on lead for toilet breaks only.
Due to our location, there are certain accessibility challenges that cannot be avoided. The first being
getting off the floating pontoons & onto boats & off again. Also – there are steps from our jetty into the
restaurant space, but once in the restaurant we do have an accessible bathroom.
You would know best if your guest with mobility requirements would be able to manage this – but as per
our seasonal information: “Please consider our remote waterfront location when booking. It is not
advisable for young children/toddlers; anyone with poor mobility or a person that has a pre-existing
medical condition and may require urgent medical attention.”
You are welcome to use the pool and have time between courses to do so – but please be aware that our
restaurant chairs are not suited for wet costumes. We ask that you dry off and dress again before coming
back to sit in the restaurant. Please bring your own towels as well.
We don’t do wine pairings. Our drinks menu has a variety of beautiful wines, fabulous cocktails, popular &
craft beers as well as a great selection of non-alcoholic options.
We only do one-night packages in High Season as the main attraction is our Long Lunch and offer the
accommodation as a way of extending your Peats Bite experience. The peacefulness after the lunch
guests leave is very special. We can look at longer stays in low season. Please contact us directly for
requests.
Our drinks packages are available to groups of 16 guests or more, which is a convenient option to budget
for your event. We also offer a non-alcoholic option @ 50% discount on the package price per hour.
Our Bungalow Package includes:
• Return transfers from Deerubben Reserve, Mooney Mooney
• Peats Bite Long Lunch
• Light Supper
• Bungalow Accommodation (Twin share)
• Breakfast
We don’t do birthday cakes — however you are welcome to bring your own cake if you wish. Most people
prefer to do this if they want a specially decorated Birthday cake, and we can plate it up nicely for you. But
keep in mind that after our Long Lunch, most people can’t find much room for extra cake!
All our tables have spectacular views of the river and surrounds – and there is plenty of time between
courses to leave your table & step outdoors to enjoy all the spaces where you can take it all in!
Children are more than welcome in our restaurant if you are wanting to join us for lunch.
As most of our overnight guests in our Bungalows are couples on a retreat – or people wanting a quiet
break from their own children – we only allow children as overnight guests if they are part of a private group
that has booked all 4 bungalows.
Leaving early is possible – but may mean you miss out on some of the final courses of the degustation
menu.
Also – if you are using our transport – we usually only run our boats for arrival before lunch (approx.
12-12.30pm) and departure after lunch (approx. 5pm) as our skippers are also working in the restaurant
during service. The only option would be to pre-book your own transport with Hawkesbury Water Taxi —
0422 300 100.
No, there is no road access to Peats Bite.
Yes, we cater to the main dietary restrictions. Please advise us in advance.
Dogs are only permitted if you’re arriving by your own vessel. Ideally, they should remain on board to avoid any issues. If they come ashore, they must be kept on a lead and are only allowed in the grassed area near the pool.
Children are welcome; however, as we are located on the water’s edge, they must be heavilysupervised at all times. Please note that children are not permitted to stay overnight in the bungalows.
